How To Improve Eyesight Naturally

Want to know how to improve eyesight naturally? There are lot of easy to do methods and techniques that you can use, and by doing the right exercises you can even restore ‘near perfect’ 20 20 vision altogether! The following are just a few simple tips that you can put to use today.

Avoid Eye Strain

Eye strain can make your eyes sore, watery and red. You may suffer from blurred vision, tension headaches or you might find that light hurts your eyes. It can be caused by extended periods of time spent driving, working at a computer, reading or anything that requires you to focus your vision on particular thing for a long time. To get relief from eye strain try a cold compress, a herbal eye soak, or a heated wash cloth.

To avoid computer related eye strain try adjusting the lighting and resolution on your monitor. Make sure you take frequent breaks from computer related activity or any activity that requires long periods of concentration. Look away frequently from the monitor and focus on something far away for a few minutes before refocusing on the computer screen. Get proper sleep and eye rest, and ensure there is enough moisture in the air in your environment to stop your eyes from drying out.

Eye Relaxation Exercises

The following is an eye exercise called ‘Palming’ and can be used to relax the eye muscles and reduce tension and fatigue. Here’s how to do it:

  • Rub your hands together for a minute or two until warm.
  • Sit down and relax – rest your elbows on a solid surface such as a table. Cup your palms and place them lightly over your eyes with your fingers overlapping across your forehead. Avoid placing pressure on the eyeballs.
  • Open your eyes to make sure all light is blocked out.
  • Close your eyes and look at the dark. Relax your eyes as much as possible and focus on looking deep into the distant night. You may see spots of light or zaps of color at first, but eventually you will be able to totally focus on the dark. The degree of blackness you see represents the degree of relaxation that has been achieved. Remember to breathe deeply.
  • Do this for between 5-30 minutes twice a day. The longer the better, but you may find it tedious at first until you get used to it.

Natural Vision Improvement Program

There are a number of programs on the market today that teach the principles of natural vision improvement that were first researched by Dr William H Bates. Dr Bates proved that eye exercises could not only improve vision naturally, but could often restore 20/20 vision eliminating the need for glasses and contact lenses altogether. The best vision improvement program we have come across is one called Vision Without Glasses. This effectively teaches the Bates Method in a comprehensive but easy to understand way, giving you the opportunity to improve your eyesight naturally without risky and expensive eye surgery.
